About us
Outrageous Fortune is the first online literary magazine created for undergraduates by undergraduates. It was begun by a group of students at Mary Baldwin University where its headquarters is still situated. We publish undergraduate writing and art as well as feature the creative work of Mary Baldwin graduates in some of our pages.
As you may have guessed, as residents of Staunton, VA, we are also lovers of Shakespeare, and our site takes many of its page names, as well as its logo, from Hamlet.
You can see who is on our staff by clicking the tab marked “Who’s There” (the first line of Hamlet, of course!). Those who are interested in submitting should visit the tab marked “Submission Guidelines.” Anyone else should feel free to browse the poetry, prose, and artwork we publish every spring. Enjoy!
